NEW FENCE RAILS

WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE FRONT ENTRANCE?
We are working on getting the lighting back at the front entrance. Tony Raley, in our community, is coordinating the efforts to do this. He is meeting with a Duke Energy engineer on Monday to set up a meter and service box to power the front. The current wiring and connections are not to code. This will all be corrected and properly inspected.
Next we are working on getting most of the brick fence columns repaired by a mason. We will slowly start to replace all the front wooden 4x4's and 6x6's with your help to save on the labor cost.
We have only received HOA fees from roughly 25% of the community. You have probably seen the thermometer upfront.
We do not have enough money to take care of all the above, pay for the electric and properly landscape the front.
We have just over $4,000 and are trying our best to spend it wisely.
We urge you to please mail in your HOA fee of $100. Your money is being used to improve the front entrance.
For those of you that have sent in your HOA fee the Board thanks you.

PHOTOS FROM THE ANNUAL PICNIC
Click on photos to enlarge them.

The 1st Annual Picnic was a great success. We served 70 hamburgers and 65 hot dogs. The food table was covered with all types of sides, salads and desserts. Brendan on acoustic guitar was a treat to all. Everyone fully enjoyed themselves and said they were looking forward towards the next picnic.
How was this all paid for? Your Board contributed funds to pay for this event. We all paid upfront $100 each towards our first years fees. A budget will be presented at our annual meeting on November 12th. This will be the kick off to request your financial support.

NEW LOOK !
New look for our front entry sign.
This is the the hill on Hood Road (to the right as you leave) that was overgrown with small trees and ivy climbing all over the brick columns.
This is the empty lot to the right on Steepleton that has been cleared. Thank you to those who called 311 to get this done.

New lights.
This past Saturday morning (8/17/09) about 15 volunteers from our neighborhood came out to clean up the front. This included painting our sign, installing new lights, trimming back bushes and hauling away two full pickups of weeds, limbs and trash.
The HOA Board would like to thank all of you for your help.
